The International Code Council (ICC) was established in 1994 as a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing a single set of comprehensive and coordinated national model construction codes. The founders of the ICC are Building Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc. (BOCA), International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO), and Southern Building Code Congress International, Inc. (SBCCI). Since the early part of the last century, these nonprofit organizations developed the three separate sets of model codes used throughout the United States. Although regional code development has been effective and responsive to our countrys needs, the time came for a single set of codes. The nations three model code groups responded by creating the International Code Council and by developing codes without regional limitations the International Codes.

The Home Inspector and
Your Home Inspection
A home inspection is an independent, unbiased review and report on a homes systems, components and conditions. The purpose of a home inspection is to provide you with detailed information about the condition of the home you are buying or selling.
Performing a home inspection is a process that requires a well experienced, well educated, and trained eye. These three qualities are important considerations in choosing your home inspector.
Training is not just a one time event for the home inspector. Shared experiences with other home inspectors via professional associations, periodicals, and professional relationships is necessary to maintain a knowledge base that is sufficient to be a competent home inspector.
Education is a continual process for the home inspector. With decades of Building Code history to research and continual changes in the products and materials that are used to build homes, it is necessary that a home inspector be devoted to furthering his (or her) education.
Experience is the most important and yet perhaps the most overlooked quality to consider when choosing a home inspector. A home inspectors experience should be well rounded with a significant background in home building as well as home inspection.
Experience is key. The more time an inspector has spent in the construction and inspection industries, the more knowledge he (or she) brings to each inspection.
We at Temple Home Inspection hold true to these qualities. It is our commitment to provide home inspections that meet the highest standards.
Many inspectors claim to be CREIA
members or claim their reports meet or follow CREIAs Standards of
Practice. Do not be fooled; ask to see the CREIA BADGE. Only inspectors
who meet CREIAs rigorous professional and educational requirement
may qualify as members. At the bottom of the badge you will see a date that
the membership is good through. Only a membership badge with a current date
signifies the member as a current member in good standing. Ask your inspector
to SHOW THE CREIA BADGE.
